The 3.6-mill General Fund portion supports the district's day-to-day operations. These funds help pay for educational programs, staffing, transportation, utilities and other operating expenses associated with educating students and operating the school district.

Permanent Improvement funds have been used for a variety of long-term facility, safety, technology and equipment needs, including:

Building Improvements: Bus garage updates, concrete work and water heater replacements.
Technology Infrastructure: Wi-Fi and network cabling projects at Streetsboro Elementary School and Henry Defer Intermediate School. Vehicles and Equipment: Three school buses, a Ventrac and a mower.

The 1.5-mill Permanent Improvement portion is used for longer-term capital expenses. These funds can be used to maintain and improve school buildings and grounds, replace or update vehicles, purchase equipment, and complete facility and infrastructure projects.

Both levies were originally approved by Streetsboro voters in 2007 and have been renewed three times since then. The last year of collections for these levies will be calendar 2027.

Today we celebrate our Streetsboro PTO/PTA volunteers! Your fundraising, event planning, and tireless support strengthen our school community and enrich our students' experiences. Thank you for all you do behind the scenes!
Fourth graders kicked off the year with scientific inquiry, learning how to measure liquid volume and mass. They have since diving into the scientific method, putting it to the test by predicting and discovering how many drops of water can fit on a single penny!

Earlier this month, Coldwell Banker generously donated school supplies to support Streetsboro students. After learning from our Chief Business Officer about additional needs in our district, their team stepped up once again, this time with a generous donation of book bags, lunch boxes, more school supplies, and hats and coats to help keep our students warm as the temperatures begin to drop.
We are incredibly grateful for community partners like Coldwell Banker who listen, respond, and find meaningful ways to support our students and families.

Our Principal Student Advisory Committee at SHS has already been busy this year! They kicked things off by hosting a New Student Welcome Breakfast, giving new Rockets a chance to connect, ask questions, and feel right at home. Thank you to our student leaders for setting the tone for a great year!

Math in action at SMS! Students in Ms. Johnston's class are collaborating at vertical boards, using mathematical reasoning, problem-solving strategies, and teamwork to deepen their understanding. We love seeing learning come to life!
The combined levy provides approximately $2.55 million annually to Streetsboro City Schools. Approximately $1,798,235 is directed to the General Fund, while approximately $748,840 is allocated to the Permanent Improvement Fund.

Is this a new tax? No. This is a renewal of existing levies and will not generate new revenue for the district or increase the current tax rate for property owners.

Senior English students practiced their communication skills in a speed-date-style mock interview before their real ones! Thank you to the community members who gave their time and made it authentic. Real-life experiences prepare our students for life beyond SHS.
The Streetsboro City Schools Board of Education has placed a combined 5.1-mill renewal levy on the November 3, 2026, ballot. Issue 7 combines two existing district levies: a 3.6-mill General Fund levy and a 1.5-mill Permanent Improvement levy.
